Worth the £99 but disappointed with Mentorship hard sell.
I attended the two day Touchstone Education course 'Wealth Through Property' on the 21st & 22nd March 2025. This was after attending a free lunchtime webinar run by Abi Hookway that I came across on Instagram after following Abi's account and posts for around a month. For the cost of £99 and the ease of doing this course from my home office I found the content, presentation and information received very informative and worth the money I paid, it was actually a lot of fun. I have now acted only 1 full day after the course ending and put an offer in on a property. I did already have my Ltd company and business bank account set up last week, so I was ready to start, as well as already taking tax and accounting advice from a friend who is an accountant and another friend who is a Mortgage Broker. I come from a family of builders and I'm a Planner so I have 20 years experience in development and planning, so it's not like the sector is completely new to me. The only negative that formed part of the course was the hard sell for the mentorship 12 month program, this was £14,995 if purchased on the day. I have no doubt that the mentorship program and guarantee was worth this cost, but like me I got the impression there were a lot of others on the course that could not afford this mentorship, or wanted to do it but had bad credit like me after a divorce and were unable to get a loan to fund it. One of the male presenters was extremely ignorant of the fact that not everyone could secure that sort of level of funds immediately. He was great in the rest of the course and an absolute laugh a minute, but that was a disappointment, the attitude towards the fact that 'if you didn't sign up meant that you can't be bothered and you didn't really want this', when those were not the facts at all for most that had already paid to be on this course. That's the impression I got from some of the questions being asked from attendees. I myself came away a little disheartened that I had no way to secure the funds to do the Mentorship immediately. It felt a little like this was hidden in the sign up information and they weren't upfront about this, perhaps if Touchstone were then attendees would of been able to secure funds or talk to family about borrowing the funds and sign up on the day. On reflection and from the research I have already done the course gave me exactly what I needed to make a start straightway on my own, I knew loads more than I did before the two days, even if it was on my own and not on a fast tracked mentorship with all the blueprint and template documents you get on the mentorship program, as well as the check ins/planning with your chosen mentor.
