I came home from a couple of days away…
I came home from a couple of days away to see raw sewage covering my garden. It was leaking from a small drain and two larger drain covers, (not sure why there are two). I called the help line to report this issue, not knowing where the blockage was at this time. I was not able to flush my toilet or use any water (shower, washing (machine etc, as it just emptied out on to my garden. The smell in my house was horrendous and was making me feel very sick. I explained this issue to customer service and the response was a total lack of care, was also incredibly rude, unhelpful and patronising. Not to mention judgmental. I was also told that it would take a while for someone to come and have a look, (up to 7 days!!!!) Apparently I'm not a priority because despite the fact that I've raw sewage in my garden and the smell in my home is making me sick, and the fact I can't flush my toilet or have a shower or even wash, wash up etc I'm not a priority. I'm disabled, by the way, I need to use my toilet and wash my clothes ect more than usual. No details needed. I also have an immune compromised illness. I eventually paid for a company to deal with the blocked drain, only to be told that the blocked drain isn't on my property but is an issue further away. I wasn't prepared to pay for someone else's problem. Being that of Anglian Water. I'm now having to vacate my home, until anglian water can find the time to unblock their drain, at my cost. Despite the fact that their policy states to have blockages cleared within 42 hours. Not up to 7 days, how do they expect people to live in conditions like this, without the ability to use a toilet or wash/shower etc, not to mention the putrid smell of raw sewage and the fact that my dogs can't go outside. No one should have to wait 24 hours let alone 7 day's. You wouldn't treat an animal like this! I can't vacate my property until the morning due to circumstances. This certainly isn't helping my already infection that I'm currently taking antibiotics for. Not acceptable at all.
