I have had a court case pending for the last 8 months. Due to the severity of the crime I was more or less certain that I would received a custodial sentence. Yesterday at my sentencing I received a suspended sentence and avoided spending time in prison. This outcome would not have been possible without the hard and dedicated work from Zahra, who was in overall charge of my case, and also Jess who represented me in court on the day. As a person with quite severe mental health issues, understandably this process put a lot of strain on my mental health, something which my representatives were aware of, but from my first hearing to my sentencing all the staff at Mary Monsons made the utmost effort to make me feel at ease by both explaining the process to me in full an reassuring me that they would do all they can to help me achieve the best possible outcome.
