Steak in ale with Cheese cobblers I recently ordered a week’s worth of meals to eat whilst I recover from surgery. The chicken dinner, eaten yesterday, was very small and of a poor standard, but at least it was edible. This evening’s dinner, steak in ale was the worst meal I have ever eaten - or rather not eaten. The beef was of the cheapest quality, poorly cooked, fatty, and chewy beyond swallowing. The cobblers were tasteless lumps of squidgy dough. Appalling! Update: the moussaka eaten this evening was sufficient and tasty.
