Do not use Alinta!
After receiving two extremely high bills I had to leave I couldn’t afford them any longer. My last bill was over 600 dollars to just heat our water! Switched to kleenheat and my monthly bill is only 25 dollars. How in the world can Alinta charge so much?! I asked them to review my bills and all they can say was I must be using less energy. You know what I am but not that much less. Upon review they charge 65% more per unit than kleenheat. I’m sorry but this is akin to stealing. Now that I have left I’m still having trouble paying off my last bill. We are a single income family and the costs were shocking for us. I make bi weekly instalments. I’ve received harassing letters saying they will hand off my remaining amount to a debt collector. They even go on to say my future credit will be destroyed. All this and I’m paying them, just not enough for these greedy folks. They said to call them if I had trouble paying but they refuse to let me continue in instalments because I left. They rather collect my instalments from a debt collector than work out a plan with me.
