Abandoned in Malaga

On Monday 5th January 2026 my wife and I arrived at Málaga airport to take our flight to Liverpool having spent a few days in Torremolinos on an easyJet package holiday, flight, hotel and transfers included. On arrival at Málaga airport, about 8am, we were informed that the flight was delayed a couple of hours. At 10.15 I received an email from easyJet with a 9euro refreshment voucher, which didn't work when I tried to buy some food. At 11.26 I received another email informing me that the flight had been cancelled, but as we're on and easyJet 'holiday' their dedicated holiday team are making alternative arrangements. Which gave us a small ray of hope. At 12.12 I received an email telling me that they had a new flight for me, hooray I thought, London Gatwick on Wednesday 7th, only 240 miles away, and in the day about a 5 hour drive if you're lucky, thanks for that!!! They also mentioned that they were trying to find us a hotel and transfers. We still had a little hope. At 13.49 I received another email to telling me that they had been trying to arrange a transfer between LGW and LPL, but on this occasion they were unable to do so, so make your own way home from London Gatwick and keep the receipts, out of interest I went on Uber and it was over £400 for the trip. At 16:07 we were still in the airport and all our hopes were dashed with the next email which informed us that they had been trying to find us a hotel and transfers, but on this occasion it had not been possible, so find your own hotel and make your own way there. So absolutely no assistance whatsoever, the flight they booked for us wasn't any help, only hinderence given the distance from home. All this time my wife was constantly on the phone trying to speak with easyJet customer services, after being on hold for more than an hour the call was cut off. No easyJet staff were available at Málaga airport and we had to go searching for our own bags. If I could give a minus for customer service I would but it isn't available.
