I went on a trip to Cancun and booked a car through Discovercars. That was a big mistake. The Economy Rental Car (America Rental Car in Cancun) they work with in Cancun purposefully forces you to purchase an expensive third party liability insurance even if you have your own private insurance, or if you have a credit card that includes insurance for car rentals, or even if you paid $10 extra on the Discovercars website for full coverage. Their website also says that the rental car is just a few minutes from the airport but it is a 20 minute drive to there. You are better off when renting a car in Cancun to do so in person just outside of the hotel to avoid being scammed.
