I arranged a multi drop…
I arranged a multi drop collection/delivery this week, originally a flexible day booking which I was absolutely fine about. However, when I contacted the driver I had been assigned asking him what day/time would he be doing the job. He replied he would let me know within 24 hours, he didn't contact me, so after 24 hours I contacted him again he said it would be the next day between 2 and 4. As the first pick up would be from a shop that would be open until 5 pm I agreed with this instruction. I informed the shop that the driver would pick up between 2 and 4. I messaged the driver in the morning asking if he was still ok with the timings, no reply, so at 3.30 I phoned him, no answer. Approx 15 minutes later he messaged me, I asked if all was still ok for the agreed timings and I was told he would be late and now between 5pm and 7pm as he was approx 50 miles from my pick up address. I told him again that the pick up was shop hours and closing at 5pm so that wouldn't be any good. I then contacted the shop to let them know, that the driver wouldn't now be coming that afternoon, they were very annoyed with me as they had moved the sofa, wardrobe and table out to the front of the shop ready and would now have to move it all back again. In closing of this review the drivers incompetence not only ruined our plans he also put more heavy lifting on to the staff at the shop and made me look incompetent. Thank goodness I found someone the next day who communicated well, arrived on time and was absolutely lovely, he collected and delivered everything for us efficiently and in a friendly manner.
