Assignments marked v. promptly but course info disappointing
Assignments were marked very promptly. Disappointing that no marks or grades were provided, just a 'PASS' - but the comments / feedback for each assignment were encouraging. Coursework was ok as a base-line but I did find some info out of date & didn't provide latest UK Gov advice / info. I preferred to research more independently as I found a lot of the course content very biased, and some was quite badly written. n module 2 course material about protein requirements I see that UK Government sources aren't quoted, The National Academy of Sciences Food and Nutrition Board isn't UK it's a US reference, not UK. Furthermore, the details quoted are at odds with the info Published by public Health England. Examples of concerns I emailed about (but didn't receive responses) :- 1) Introduction & Aims of course - can this be provided ? 2) General advice about completing the course - what is required - is it the same as A'level - reading around the subject - are the course notes merely guidance. (this is information which is critical to the scoring of assignments) 3) Course material - outdated and therefore I want to be sure I'm learning upto date info (see above point) at the beginning of the 2nd module it says: - 'almost 40 years ago, in 1954...' meaning the course material is from the early 90s. On the whole I really enjoyed the course & used the content as a learning guide. I also appreciated that I wasn't confined to completing the course within a set time frame. It would have been great to receive some tips on appropriate client record keeping, salient questions etc guidance on going forwards utilising the qualification. No mention was made of record keeping or even obtaining appropriate insurance if working as an independent consultant. Remiss not to IMO.
