Tattoo discrimination
I went to look at a room last week to become a guardian and I was turned down because a neighbour didn't like the fact I had tattoos and the owners (which are the police force) said they don't want someone who is heavily tattooed give the wrong impression. I am heavily tattooed but all you could see of my tattoos were my hands. I was in a serious car accident 14yrs ago leaving me with serious scarring on my face so I had the tattoos done to try and draw people attention from my scars to my tattoos. I work full time and I haven't been in any trouble for over 12yrs but not once did anyone try and argue my case and I have glowing references both personal and professional. I went to the police station today and logged a formal complaint and the 2 officers I dealt with were serious concerned about this aswel as shocked about that because over half the police force have tattoos, I have suffered badly with my mental health as a result of my scars and this has caused me to backwards. I have never had to warn anyone about my tattoos before meeting them but I have for the last wk. Adhoc have blamed the police but what they should have done was fight for my rights and stop this discrimination. The police have taken this matter very seriously and I'm currently waiting for a call from the inspector investing this because in todays world this type thing shouldn't be happening. If you are tattooed don't go to this company as you won't get the room and your be wasting your time
