Kia Brunei Service Centre
Bought a 2018/19 Stinger GT. Had 1k and 10k services done as per warranty contract. When my car hit 13000km I noticed the threads were starting to show on edge of my tyre, both sides same? Now I used to be mechanically minded and practical but now I leave it up to the dealer. I took the car in and complained that alignment was off (excessive toe in). They checked it, agreed and corrected it FOC? Appointment was 9am, waited till 11am to be told it wouldn't be done till 4pm (2 hours wasted). Asked if I could return later. Luckily they lent me one of their staff's personal cars. Now who pays for the damaged tyre 1300km (8300miles ish) and destroyed? Naturally they blame me saying they do all necessary checks and that I should have complained about it at 10k service. How do you complain about an issue you don't know about, I don't know? I asked them to source the front tyres as I was having issues finding any. They come back with they've found same tyres but I would have to buy full set (4 tyres)? Never had this in 30 years of driving and told them that's stupid. Tyres are different front to back and surely that's 2 half sets lol. I decided to double check my service receipts to see what they found or did any alignment checks. HEY PRESTO my tyres are destroyed because Kia service centre never bothered to check my tyre depths. Ticked the box but didn't bother to fill in the actual depths as indicated on their own worksheet. If they had bothered they would have spotted at 10k, advised me, alignment would have been done and I would've bought 2 new tyres. Now I'm attempting to get them to pay for 2 if not all 4 for being negligent and deceiving me. DONT TRUST YOUR KIA SERVICE CENTRE AND ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK THE WORK CARRIED OUT. I was sent away on tyres that were illegal and dangerous to me and other road users. ***END RESULT*** TOOK A WEEK BUT BOTH FRONT TYRES REPLACED F.O.C.
