ACIS has long provided a fantastic travel experience for us. We always enjoy the rigorous schedule because we get to see so much - thrilling scenery and beautiful art and magnificent architecture.. Once we got to our first destination, all these things transpired. But, getting to Athens from the USA was awful thanks to Delta and bad weather in NYC. Mostly, the airline was not helpful nor understanding as we attempted to reschedule our 28 travelers. I feel that ACIS let us down in conjunction with the Delta fiasco. The travel was to take about 17 hours but it took over 50 hours .. should ACIS have intervened and gotten all of us on a different flight out of Atlanta? The window of opportunity closed on us ... one delay after another between Atlanta-NYC-Brussels (detour) -Athens. Our leader pleaded with Delta and ACIS for assistance with multiple phone calls throughout the delays in NYC and then in Brussels - especially when a few students did not have a seat on the last flight to Athens. I feel ACIS commitment to make our entire travel experience great from start (airport) to finish was lacking by leaving us to fend for ourselves against Delta. The beginning of the travel adventure was.. a nightmare. I am disappointed that ACIS did not take control away from Delta and book different flights to get us ALL where we were supposed to be, when we were supposed to be there.
