I WAS a customer of Adagio for 12+ yrs

I was a customer of Adagio for 12+ yrs. I spent over $1000 over those 12 yrs. I've purchased many teas and teaware. I have never been disappointed. I have always received what I order, quickly and it has always been of the highest quality. I read the description of the toasTEA and because of the reputation they built with me, I ordered it assuming it would again, exceed my expectations. It fell FAR short of meeting my expectations. I struggle to see how it could meet anyone's expectations unless you prefer to eat tea leaves and burn your lips as you drink your tea. I asked for a return via the website and it was stated that I would receive back the purchase price of the product but I would be responsible for shipping (I was offered to print a return label from their site for $6.99). If it were my mistake - I ordered the wrong color , I didn't like the box, whatever - I understand. But when a product does not perform as advertised, I expect the company to make it right at no cost to me. After half-a-dozen email exchanges with customer service, they refused to credit me for shipping; even knowing my purchase history and that it was my first return for anything in 12 yrs. Small company or big company, that's inexcusable in my opinion. It felt very much like when you go to make a claim on your insurance and the insurance company fights you tooth and nail to NOT do the right thing - but with a smile and plenty of "I'm sorry" and "I understand". I'm afraid they don't understand.
