DO NOT USE DCG

I could not be more disappointed with my experience with DCG stores. I found a bookcase on Wayfair that I was interested in purchasing two of, however they only had one in stock. I looked into other online retailers that carried the same product, and through the manufacturer's website I found DCG stores. There was a delay in the initial item being shipped, however it was not excessive. When the bookcases arrived the shipping boxes were not damaged, but the product inside was. There was cracked wood and paint on all of the pieces. It took 8 emails, 3 phone calls, and 7 weeks to rectify the situation. The company stated that I should have refused the boxes since they were damaged, however the boxes were intact on arrival and there was no way to know the product was damaged until two palates were unpacked. At one point DCG stopped responding to my emails and it took filing a report with my credit card company and leaving a voicemail for a manager to receive a response. Even then DCG would not return my calls, but emailed me from a generic "service" email account that prevented you from knowing who specifically you were communicating with or if it was even the same person handling the issue. DCG ended up blaming everything on the shipping company, saying they damaged the original items and then they missed the scheduled pickup of the replacements. Regardless of who is at fault, communication with the customer is essential. Receiving a damaged product is not a big deal, as long as the company is timely and courteous in remedying the issue.
