Fantastic China tour - Highly recommend it
I really really enjoyed my trip to China with the Travel Department. It was my first trip travelling on my own but my fourth trip with the Travel Dept. Everyone was so welcoming. The tour was magnificent and our guide Jack was beyond excellent. He was exceptional and took great care of everyone and was so knowledgeable and good fun. Three negatives 1) I did not realise that I would have to pay locally for some of the day tours. Having said that, they were not expensive and were worth it. 2) I did not enjoy the tour to the local farm. The lunch was delicious but apart from that I would not recommend the farm day tour. 3) The dinners in the local restaurants were disappointing. The train journeys were fantastic. The Great Wall of China, Shanghai and the Terracotta Warriors as well as the night cruise in Shanghai and our tour guide Jack and my travelling companions were the highlights of this trip for me. The hotels and the meals in the hotels were really good. Highly recommend this trip to China.
