Two weeks of surprising and exceptional scenery.
We have just completed a two week self drive tour of Ireland which we arranged through Linda Larkin of Irish Tourism. We wanted to thank Linda for her efforts in arranging the hotel and car rental bookings details and providing a very detailed touring itinerary from which we were able to choose our daily excursions. We had a most enjoyable time and came home to Toronto, Canada with lots of memories and photos to share with family and friends. The self drive provided an opportunity to see the countryside and coastal views at our leisure, our objective for the tour, as well as see some city night life at the end of days driving activities. We were able to stop and adjust our personal itinerary whenever needed. Driving was certainly an education, with the narrow roads and driving on the other side of the road, but it brought back memories of driving through my home country of New Zealand. With the narrower roads and high speed limits it did provide some excitement at times, particular for my passenger. During the planning phase we appreciated Linda's timely responses to our requests for changes to hotel locations and particularly loved the on trip hotel location change for our last two nights in Dublin. It was right downtown and within walking distance to shopping and entertainment. We do regret not having spent a couple of extra days in Dublin but....... maybe another time. We loved the accommodations, the hotels were of a high standard and we appreciated that very much. We found the hotel staff to be very friendly and accommodating. The full Irish breakfast at each stay was very good and provide a good start to each day. The pick up and drop off of the rental car was effortless and while the car was small we came to realise it was what is needed on these narrow roads. We covered more than 2500 kms without incident. We did find staying the extra day in each location an advantage and it allowed us to take our time and be selective in what we spent our time on. We are both in our late 70's so we don't move so fast anymore. Thank you again Linda and we will definitely recommend Irish Tourism as an option to others who may be contemplating a trip to Ireland.
