Debit card fraud department.
Having been scammed when making a purchase online, I was messaged by the debit card fraud department asking me to confirm recent transactions, yes/no or wait for them to ring me , which they did. To say that the operative was difficult to understand was an understatement, but as the department is based in Mumbai and English is obviously not his first language, no wonder! Finally established that if the fraudster tried to access my account again, my account would be blocked, which inevitably was the case. On speaking to my local branch, I was given the phone number for Debit Card Fraud. The call handler on that number was equally difficult to understand and I had to repeatedly ask her to slow down and speak more clearly. To add insult to injury the previous phone call hadn't even been logged!! I feel really uneasy and this has made an already stressful situation even worse.
