No Refunds, Dodgy Renewals, Scammy Behaviour.

TokyoTreat seems good at first but if you’re not super observant, you’ll end up severely out of pocket. I was unfortunate to be hit by this, I took out a one month subscription, planning to cancel before the next, but got the day of renewal wrong, so I was hit by an unexpected 12 month subscription renewal! It turned out they’d automatically changed the subscription length without telling me, and auto billed it. When I tried to ask them to cancel and refund it they refused saying that refunds are not something they do, and every time I insisted that I had not agreed to a 12 month subscription they would brush me off telling me “don’t worry we’ll send you the boxes” instead of refunding, which under local consumer laws they are required to do. After a failed dispute with PayPal I ended up going to my bank and starting a chargeback, that took 12 months to resolve! The company was completely dishonest about their renewals, hid the fact that they don’t refund even if they only billed you 10 minutes before, and will even break consumer law. Don’t trust this company with your money or bank details! EDIT: Following on with the comment from the seller, they changed my subscription without my consent from 1 to 12 months, I confirmed this happened without my being informed, and that I never agreed to a 12 month subscription (which is why my bank returned my money) There is a difference between a recurring subscription that is consented to, and what they've done, it's called bait and switch and is a type of fraud. TokyoTreats customer service was my first point of contact, and they refused to read my messages, sent generic clearly templated replies like the one below and deliberately misunderstood my clear request for an immediate refund within the first day of the subscription renewal prior to any product being shipped. (By law here all contract renewals like this have a 7 day cooling off period) They know this is an issue, they don't even try to send a reminder to let you know a renewal date is upcoming unlike any other reputable service, their behaviour is deliberate and deceptive and cannot be trusted. Finally, when I submitted this review, Tokyotreat flagged it saying I wasn't a customer, and tried to have it removed. They clearly don't want negative feedback and will do whatever they can to suppress it. Fortunately I keep records, and was able to send proof that the incident happened and that I was a customer.
