Disappointed with Misleading Holiday Information – Poor Transparency from Travel Republic
We recently booked a holiday through Travel Republic, paying the full price for what we expected to be a relaxing and enjoyable break. However, upon arrival, we were extremely disappointed to discover that the main pool at the hotel was undergoing refurbishment something we were not informed about on the summary or landing page of the sale only after spending over a hour on the phone once in Abu Dhabi I was informed it's 8 pages into to the importance information. The pool was one of the main reasons we chose this particular accommodation, and not being told in advance meant we had no opportunity to change plans or choose an alternative. Had we known, we would have selected a different hotel as this was a last minute 10 year wedding anniversary trip. It feels incredibly unfair and misleading to charge full price for a holiday when a key facility is out of service. When we reached out to Travel Republic to raise the issue, we felt that our concerns were not taken seriously, and no proactive communication or resolution was offered. This experience has left us feeling let down and frustrated, and we’ll be thinking twice before booking through Travel Republic again. Transparency and customer care were seriously lacking. Just hope you don't spoil anyone else's holiday / special occasion in future as you could easily solve this by stating the works being carried out on the summary page at start in bold writing to inform customers of the works.
