Repeated Faults, Long Delays, and No Accountability
We bought three LG appliances—dishwasher, fridge/freezer, and washing machine—and had issues with two of them immediately, as both the fridge/freezer and washing machine arrived damaged. The washing machine took months to be replaced, despite repeated emails and phone calls. LG's responses were slow, inconsistent, and the case had to be “escalated” multiple times before anything was resolved. Although they promised compensation, we never received it. The dishwasher has also had a bE (bubble error) since purchase. It was intermittent at first and would often clear on its own, which made it difficult to report. Given how drawn-out and frustrating LG’s customer service process had been, we hesitated to report something that might disappear by the time it was looked at. Typically, the error has now become persistent just as the warranty expired, and the dishwasher can no longer complete any cycle. Despite the fault clearly existing from the start—and our long history of problems with LG products—they refused to consider a goodwill repair. We’ve had to pay for a repair ourselves. Customer service, notably, was very responsive when it came to arranging the paid repair—though nothing has actually been booked yet. It’s a real shame. The products are well-designed and perform well when working, but the reliability and complete lack of accountability from LG’s support team has been exhausting. After this experience, we won’t be purchasing LG again.
