Hidden costs, data breach, not convenient
1. Very inconvenient web-site and app (for ABN AMRO), messy process of cards activation and adding to apple wallet, different apps and websites, not clear why to have different environments for one card. 2. Charge you by default for a paper account statements sent by post. Even if you did not order this. You have to register yourself at their portal (which is mostly useless and works very bad) and only at that portal you can ask NOT to send you paper statements. 3. Right after ordering a card, on the day of card delivery and around the time of card activation - I have received a phishing email with their logo and message about activation issues etc. Obviously data was leaked. In 2024 they were already fined in the Netherlands for mistreating personal data. check: De Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (AP) legt International Card Services B.V. (ICS) een boete op van 150.000 euro. Unless you indeed need extra credit money - this can be helpful, but otherwise its waste of time and money.
