I am a rather distrustful person who doesn't easily believe people, especially the ones trying to sell me something. This evening I have just finished the two days Wealth through Property course which I paid £99 for. What can I say?…. My suspicious and doubtful mind tried its best to find fault with anything it possibly could but despite that, I cannot help coming away from the course with a true fondness and respect for the people behind it. They seem genuinely like good people interested in helping you and wanting you to succeed. Yes they were trying to sell us the Wealth Academy course which is a year long course online where you have to put around 6 hours in weekly. The course was also packed with really useful and interesting, more technical information. I do understand why they were trying to upsell this more expensive and vast course. It would it be the natural next progression after the smaller introductory course. Of course some could argue that the ratio of upsell to technical information perhaps was a bit off but personally I have found plenty of value for my £99. We have learnt about; first and foremost mindset, which I believe is the most important thing without which you would probably not benefit from anything else. Then commercial lease Rent2Rent including private and serviced accommodation. HMOs (houses of multiple occupancy) how to apply for different licences, how to approach landlords, Abi Hookway giving us concrete examples on how exactly we should word our different requests. Also how to outsource to others, how to claim capital allowances, avoid different taxes (legally), property flipping, staging your property before sale, ideal time to invest, auctions, deal sourcing and analysing, advice on being a good landlord, off plan strategy, pitching to landlords, finding builders, vendor finance, joint ventures, inheritance tax advice, limited company advice, commercial property, sipp and sass pensions…….. I could go on… this was only from day one! My £99 had given me more value than I could have hoped for already. So the ones sayings it 70-80% upsell. You are wrong! There are a lot of things I have not done in my life because I have thought it was too difficult or impossible. I don’t have the money to join their academy but if I did I would join it just for what I feel they are able to offer in alleviating my fear of acting to accomplish my dreams. I personally don’t care if they earn a lot of money from me if it helps me to act. They don’t have to do all the work for me, just show me the way. Google is a vaaaast place and it’s hard to find the exact knowledge you need when you sometimes don’t even know what you are looking for. Furthermore you get distracted on there, it’s an ocean! I could probably work it all out by myself, how to do the different property strategies, but it would cost valuable time and add stress to my life for sure. I respect education! These people (Paul and Aniko Smith) have organised tailored training programs for us so of course they should get paid. £15k you say, isn’t that a bit pricey? That depends entirely on what you get out of it. They claim they have a 93% success rate and that their average student comes away from the course earning an average of £9.5k net per month in the first year. (these numbers are what I noted down from the course) If these people are not genuine then it would be quite easy to prove it, you just need to check out if these figures are correct. If they are correct then paying £15k would just be pocket money compared to your potential returns. Thank you everyone at Touchstone! I got a good deal with you, much appreciated. Camilla
