Joanne Davison
I spoke with a wonderful woman from United Utilities called Joanne Davison on 02/06/25. I had to make contact because I had fallen behind with my payments (don’t mention the fluffing TV licence 🙈..I am trying to convince them I have a 65’’ black and white portable tv, I am 102 years old and I only watch reruns of Corrie. Free the Weatherfield One) anyway I chose to call them because I get easily distracted when typing. I cleared the security questions and Joanne introduced herself and asked how I was and how could she help, I seemed to be talking so fast but Joanne put me at ease telling me that everything is going to be okay and how reaching out is the first step so I began to tell Joanne my life story and how my payments are linked to the weather (sunshine I pay, rain I don’t. Hence why I am behind 😀). Joanne listened and I could hear her talking notes down on the system which also put me at ease because if someone else had to access my account then I wouldn’t have to repeat my circumstances. When I had finished with my life story she stopped typing and slowed everything down and really took the time to reassure me and in great detail explained what my options were and explained that other services outside of United Utilities maybe able to help and she sent me a link which has been very useful and Joanne also passed my information on to another department who could in more detail help me set up a more affordable payment plan (which they did). At the end of the call Joanne had some really kind words and along with her caring and patience really helped me face a situation that could’ve easily spiralled out of control.
