Marriott Vacation Club Train wreck - No Thank You

I am a Marriott hotel user, and have Titanium Elite status. I only share this because I actually like Marriott. However, we got invited to a timeshare presentation at Marriott Oceana Palms, Riviera Beach, FL and decided to go. We confirmed that is was okay to bring another couple before finalizing. A few weeks before I discovered that the two bedroom suite was actually a hotel room and not suitable for two couples. No help was offered or given. They would not help us, cancel us or refund us. They would not even upsell us to another unit. The MVC manager Brittany was very rude and not helpful. Our only solution was to rent another 2 bedroom suite elseware and pay for that and the crappy little hotel room that they provided. We also still had to attend the presentation, or risk being penalized more financially. Once there, a nice person named Jessica Segebre offered to help and told us that people cancel all the time. Bottom line is there was nothing she could do regarding a cancellation and refund. At least she got back to me, but blamed corporate for not helping. We were open to buy MVC but at this point, we don't see that happening. Time Share sales people are snakes. I am disappointed with Marriott and their Vacation Club team. They should have offered a win - win by selling us an upgrade or cancelling our initial payment, but decided on neither option.
