Very good service but

I had an AEG washer & dryer since 2010, ok, a very old machine but it is still a very good one. However I have had issues with spinning. I booked an appointment on the phone with an agent as I wasn't able to get a reference number to complete the online form. The process was smooth and I was given a job reference number and a date for an engineer to fix the issue "E20". On 14 July 2025, the engineer is scheduled to arrive between 11am - 2pm. I waited to almost 2pm still no show. I rang D & G to find out if anyone was coming. Whilst I was holding an incoming call from the engineer. He said he was running late. I said I thought they were not coming and I was on the line to D & G. He said he was definitely coming but was running late and will be there within 20 mins. After a while the engineer arrived he said the draining tube is blocked and he cleared all the bits stuck in the tube. I explained the lid to the draining tube was very tight and was impossible for me to undo the cover to clear, drain and clean it regularly. He said he had to tighten it to avoid leak. I stated that when I first got the WD I was able to unscrew the lid and drain the tube regularly without any problem. It wasn't leaking. However after a service was carried out by D & G, I couldn't unscrew the cap/lid any more to clean or drain the tube. The service was good, I have to say and they did fix the issues, however, if the draining cap was not over tighten I wouldn't have issues with draining as I would be able to unscrew the cap and drain the tube regularly myself. My insurance cover went up over £5 each month this year. It was a big jump. Not sure why it got increased so much each month, so it was £60 more this year! The service may be good but is it value for money? For the same amount I could get a cover for more than one kitchen appliance in the house with another well known company with a title B. I am now paying over £25 each month to cover one item. I believe is too expensive and not value for money and I didn't even book an appointment once in 2024! To improve their service I believe in this competitive market, a Company should consider giving credit for those customers who did not need their service during the cover or include an annual check. Overall I rate the service very good but is it good value for money? No.
