My van needed some engine work
My van needed some engine work. I took it to a Firestone garage to have the work done. I was shocked π² when I found out you were giving them a hard time about their price for labor which is the same everywhere. Also, they had the part needed but you wanted to ship the same part for a bit less, then they'd have to wait 4 days to get it then install. I was without a car and I couldn't work. Then you gave them trouble sending what you decided to pay for the work. I was told when I purchased CarShield that the work would be 100% paid by you and I would have to pay a $100 deductible. You dragged your feet on the payment. Then only paid $2,000 and I had to pay almost $1,400 for my part. I've heard from other places that this is what you do. What happens if I need work done again, I don't know if they will take on the job again if I need work, because of what you did this time. You should stand behind your promises that you say in the TV commercials and your representatives. I had the same thing happen to me about 2 years ago, my brakes were so bad that the shop didn't want to put me back on the road like that. I happened to remember about my policy with you. So I called to make a claim and was told pretty rudely that I should have gotten the OK π 1st and that you wouldn't cover the cost at all. I explained the situation and danger that I could be put in, not having it taken care of. I even called back a day later and got the same rude response. So I ended up paying the whole bill of $1,300, which went on my credit card. Thank God, I had a card to pay the bill. As a 75 year old senior citizen on a small SS income that's a hard hit to take. Again, I had to put the engine work on my card again to get my van back. To me that's all kinds of wrong π on your part. I could be a good spokesperson for you, especially with the senior citizens.
