Moving from Florida to New York
My daughter’s items were supposed to be picked up on May 11th, by “Costal Movers”, because her lease was up and the apartment had been rented. She was moving to NY. Coastal assured us several times not to worry we would be out on the 11th. The items were picked up on May 12th, 10 hours late, so my daughter was forced to stay another day at the apartment, sleeping on the floor. Then they asked for an additional $200, because they said she was taking up more room on the truck. Because Adrian did not fill out the paperwork properly. A new 8x10 area rug left behind because they couldn’t fit on truck. I found out that another company, “We Care For You”, the actual movers, Coastal lead me to believe they were the movers, they were not. “We Care For You” took the belongings to another state and placed them in a warehouse without my permission. They stated a form was checked giving permission to put my items in storage. No such form was checked agreeing to that, I have the copy to prove that. They refused to deliver the items until they had another job going east. They held the items for over 5 weeks in a warehouse that was wet and moldy. They kept telling us they were “working on it.” The reason we finally received the items was because I got an attorney. All of her furniture was just one year old. The couch cost me $3200 and there are two large slash marks. The mattress and boxed spring had mold all over and ripped. Two couches had black marks on them. Dishes were broken, brand new kitchen set had scratches, broken leg and black marks. The top of the dresser had dents and scratches on it. The dresser mirror was wet, water was still behind the mirror, it had mold and the frame of the mirror was damaged. A glass TV table was in pieces. The movers were couldn’t believe the condition my items. We were given the name of a company to file a complaint by Coastal and when we notified the company they said they were not responsible for the damaged and broken items. Had no choice to rate it a one star, should be zero stars.
