We are regular customers at Aldi but baulk at their surcharge for TAP, EFPOS transactions.
We are regular customers of Aldi. We find their products of a good quality and the staff friendly and helpful. The only issue that I would like to raise is that on 3/07/2021 I went to the Aldi store at Capalaba to purchase 4 of their special buys items; because the amount of the purchase came to under $100, I decided to tap my EFPOS card to pay for the items I had bought. When I arrived home I noticed on my receipt, that I had been charged a credit surcharge of $0.39. Every other time I have used the tap method, with my EFPOS card, at other stores, I have not been charged this credit surcharge. I checked with my bank and they do not charge Aldi a surcharge, for this method of payment. It makes me wonder why Aldi charge this surcharge for this EFPOS payment. If this is the “Norm” for Aldi, I certainly will not use the “TAP” method of EFPOS payment at their stores again.
