I am very thankful to Chrysalis for their help, flexibility and fantastic training materials during my 4 years of studies. I am so pleased now to have finally come to the end of my Professional Level 5 in Counselling Psychotherapy qualification after a hard year. Can't wait to continue my volunteer work in the new year 2023 & hopefully start my very own private practice! If you can't afford to give up work to study full time or within a university setting then I would recommend doing your qualification through Chrysalis due to the flexibility, and support received whenever you need it. The course does demand a lot of your own discipline and hard work to complete the assignments etc. on time and it's imperative you do the practice hours outwith your once a month class but I do promise you it's all worth it!! When I embarked on my counselling journey over 4 years ago I didn't expect the challenges, tears and hard work that came with completing the course work however here I am, feeling proud and appreciative of all the learning. The only constructive feedback I would give is the NCS accreditation isn't always recognised as well as COSCA or Bacp in Scotland which can be frustrating at times but the NCS are supportive with this if you need clarification from them. Like anything in life, this course is the same, what you put into it you get back so if you can commit, be disciplined and work hard then Go for it! I did and don't regret it now one bit.
