Here's what I dreaded about moving…

Here's what I dreaded about moving house: the cost, breakages/losses, fitting everything into the van, and the logistics of moving out of two flats and into a new home in one day. DS took a lot of that stress away. From the start, their communication skills were very good: you can talk to them in advance and get quick, helpful responses to requests for advice or concerns. First thing in the morning, the teams were cheery, hardworking and did not give me a hard time about the quality of my packing (crisp boxes - good for crisps, not so great for the contents of your kitchen). Astonishing to see the guys pack away a two-bedroom flat in a few hours, and they got everything in, even the awkward stuff. We had a delay to entry while a solicitor enjoyed a leisurely lunch before authorising the release of the keys, but the teams took it in their stride, which took the pressure off a bit, especially since they don't charge for wait time. Then Sean got us back on track by bringing in crews from other jobs to come across and help unpack and place the contents of two vans in just two hours. DS were fantastically careful too - not one breakage, despite some challenging items. We got four quotes and DS were not the most expensive, nor the cheapest, and in the end it came down to the positive reviews. They are well-deserved; the crews are reassuringly professional, good-humoured and great value.
