Ocean, Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol, gave it their all!
After what can only be described as a harrowing experience with Goodman & Lilley (G&L) in Henleaze last summer which ended in an aborted sale, we turned to Ocean in Westbury-on-Trym just before Christmas to help us sell our home. It’s fair to say we were physically and mentally exhausted by then and extremely stressed/anxious when we relisted our home with Ocean. However, it quickly became clear that Ocean were very, very different from G&L. After hearing about our experiences last year, Ocean were determined not to let us down and vowed to get us through to completion this time around. Being honest, we were probably not the easiest customers Ocean had ever had, purely because of our awful experiences last year which eroded trust and tainted our view of estate agents in general. Because of our high stress levels, we really did need a lot of support in terms of frequent communication and relaying information promptly to us. However, Steve and Melissa (and also Tim, their professional photographer) gave it their all. They were always positive and genuinely complimentary about our much-loved 1920s home. This of course then cascaded down to potential buyers viewing our property. With some key suggestions from Steve regarding presenting our house a little better and with some fabulous photographs from Tim, we received two offers in days. We struck gold with a lovely couple who fell in love with our home. Once an offer was accepted Ocean sprang into action (especially Melissa) and continued to work hard to keep the process going until we exchanged and completed. Ocean worked hard as a team, from start to finish, to get us through to completion and for that we are very, very grateful to them all. If this alone has not persuaded you to ditch other estate agents who talk-the-talk but don’t walk-the-walk, and go straight to Ocean then perhaps this will. We completed (yes, completed with cash in our bank account) on our house sale in 10 weeks flat. This was from initial viewings to completion date. We appreciate this is quite extraordinary and that we did have very keen, dedicated buyers and a relatively small chain. However, this quick turnaround must still be commended and shows what can be done when all parties pull together and are 100% committed to the process going forward as quickly and as smoothly as possible.
