All Gym Members be aware
When you become a new member or renew your membership by signing the contract you will not be given written terms and conditions unless you specifically ask for them. The contract states in small print that the terms and conditions are available on their website for you to read and understand. I find this incredibly devious and dishonest. I only recently discovered this after I took legal action against them in court this week. I claimed compensation of £100 for 12 cancelled Bodypump classes on Fridays 10.30 Merton Abbey (London) over a period of 12 months (2022 - 2023) The gym offered no alternatives each time. Despite being a member of Nuffield for over 15 years the organisation accepted no liability what so ever and merely referred me to their terms and conditions I was told in Court by their legal council employed at Epsom Head Office that I should have booked a different class at a different gym or cancelled my membership altogether. Not a great response to a long standing member. After looking at their terms and conditions again I would imagine that they would claim to have no liability for anything as any problems would be caused by external factors beyond their control. I have great sympathy for the other 20 people who booked for my cancelled classes and others who have encountered problems with payments , substandard equipment and maintenance issues. The management appear to have little interest in membership satisfaction but are more concern with collecting their salaries !!!!!!!!!!
