Hidden costs and poor service
Collected the car from Auto Air at Faro and kept waiting. Charged 19e for a toll device and some toll credits. Charged 40e for a lift back to the airport when we returned and said we would walk back when we returned as it was only 200 meters away. The grumpy guy then said the charge was actually because we were returning the car at 5am and someone had to get up early. Our booking was clearly for a 5am return and there charges should have been in the initial quote. On our return, the same grump kept us waiting again and charged an extra 5e for tolls as the device, as apparently it didn’t have credit on it (even though he told us it did). When I paid the 5 euro, he laughed and said it was for his coffee. So it cost 45e more than quoted and publicised on Go Rental website and the service was poor. A emailed their customer service team and received a standard holding reply, but got no other response. Rang today to complain and spoke to someone who said they would send a form which I have received…in French!
