Lava Car Rental kept me informed before, during, and after my trip to Iceland
Lava kept me informed through many emails as my vacation to Iceland approached, including lots of suggestions for places to see and driving tips for Iceland. I landed a little after 6am local time at the Keflavik airport, finished up all airport things, and set off to find the shuttle after watching the video for locating the shuttle. That part was a bit confusing (signs at the airport, if allowed, would be much easier). Found the shuttle and headed to the Lava offices with 5 others in the van. Short drive and only about a 5 minute wait to process things at the office and I had my car. One of the girls at the desk even came out in the rain and wind with me to the car to help me get CarPlay working with my phone and the vehicle by clearing some settings in the car, explained a few basic Icelandic traffic laws, and made sure I knew how to handle gas stations and debit/credit cards at the pump. She also gave some local breakfast options for before setting out on my week of adventures. Car was great in all weather and road conditions all week. During drop off, again around 6am, one of the girls did a really quick check of the car, asked about my week, and the shuttle was ready to roll in less than 5 minutes back to the airport. All in all, I have no hesitation recommending Lava Car Rental and if I ever get back to Iceland, I'll be using them again for car rentals.
