Bad captions, bad customer service.
I paid for closed captions for a film. I provided the transcript and specific technical guidelines. They didn't adhere to the guidelines the first or second time, and the captions created for the music and sfx were poor, inconsistent, and didn't adhere to any professional standards (they told me they go by their own standards). When I corrected everything myself and asked for a partial refund, they provided a series of empty excuses, including how it 'seems impossible to meet' certain technical guidelines—when I, first time doing captions, had just done it. They stated that 'our standards just don't meet your expectations,' and that my expectations were unattainable. The first part is certainly true, but it's irrelevant, since the bottom line is that they agreed to provide a product based on a set of technical guidelines, and didn't adhere to those guidelines. After several persistent emails on my behalf, they gave me a 10% refund, a joke considering the time and energy I invested in essentially redoing the captions and then arguing back and forth. If you need professional captions, seek another service.
