I was hired to “teach” for this diploma mill organization. The training clearly revealed to me that the administration hires experts as instructors to facilitate or manage the course and to satisfy federal aid requirements. However, these “instructors” and “professors” are not allowed to develop their course syllabus, discussion questions, or to lecture, including no taped lectures. SNHU’s idea of student engagement is requiring instructors to respond to posts made by students on the discussion board, but students are not required to respond to instructors. Additionally, they are required to grade papers of students even though no real discussion on the topic has ever occurred. The environment is not conducive to learning subject matter or developing critical skills necessary to compete in the job market. Students are literally teaching themselves. SNHU’s online program is identical to all the others that charge exorbitant tuition fees for a mediocre experience. These for-profit programs are designed to increase their bottom line not to educate students. Buyer beware.
