Biggest regret was using talbots for the purchase of my first house- the whole process took 7 months which I wouldn’t have minded the wait as long as I was kept in the loop and was being communicated with. Lauren and Rachael were my solicitors, Lauren is lovely and tried to be helpful but unfortunately could never help or answer any of my questions. Rachael has a bad attitude she is so rude. We had been waiting on my lenders for several weeks and my mortgage broker was chasing them more than these two. And then after 7 months of stress that Rachael was adding to, she called the morning of completion date and asked me to send over an extra grand!! She had calculated all the funds wrong and had no idea what was going on- she told me I owed an additional fee until I spoke with my mortgage broker and he did the calculations (which isn’t his job), he told me she had calculated it all wrong and she had missed a grand from my deposit. Further from this I had complications with the property once getting the keys- I asked Lauren for some legal advice which she said she would call me back (cause she couldn’t answer again) and I never did receive this advice and couldn’t be bothered to speak to either of them again to chase it, as that’s all I‘ve spent the last 7 months doing.
