Poor quality manicure and pedicure
I booked a last-minute mani-pedi because my regular nail technician cancelled. The girl who did my nails was very sweet and friendly, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the overall standard was poor. The treatment took over two hours, and I became quite uncomfortable in the hot salon. I also ended up with a sore friction burn on the top of my foot from the tool used to remove dead skin. While the pedicure polish was okay, the manicure was disappointing. I was in a rush to catch a flight that evening, so I didn’t feel comfortable asking for it to be redone at the time. On top of that, I was charged £75 even though the booking price showed £68. If the technician was a trainee, this should have been clearly stated upfront or charged at a lower rate. Less than a week later, the gel polish on my toes has already started peeling badly. I’ve since had my hands redone elsewhere and it was obvious the original tech hadn’t even pushed back my cuticles — they were just painted over. I’m extremely disappointed to have paid £75 for such substandard work. The salon offered 20% off my next visit, but as I’m not local, that’s no use to me. I’ve requested a partial refund and am still waiting to hear back.
