Marriott is a horrible company.

Marriott is a horrible company. When they sold us the timeshare, they said we could sell it back to them, if there were ever any issues. Now, we’ve been arguing with Marriott for a year trying to get out of this. The only option Marriott suggests is foreclosure. In August 2022, I spoke with Cantrell Balbickram who referenced not paying the payments for 120 days and surrendering the deed. Then in November 2022 I spoke with Jamie at MVC and she said the only thing we could do is a deed in lieu of foreclosure after a 120 days absence of payment. Everyone I spoke with last year told us the same 4 months spiel. No other options were available which is very disappointing and unethical to say the least. We were lied to and unable to sell it back as we were sold on. Now, Marriott wants us to risk our credit by suggesting we do not pay for 120 days. How is that fair or legal Marriott should have reasonable and ethical options for us. Due to my husband’s unforeseen debilitating physical condition coupled with the ongoing increasing financial burden, we cannot keep this property. Marriott knows this is a hardship that we cannot sustain. We have even offered to work out a settlement to pay off the loan to be able to get out of this, but nothing is moving forward. Marriott needs to get back to us with some sort of resolution asap.
