If I could give no stars I would. I raised a claim relating to an urgent referral 2 months ago and am still waiting for a response. The consent form that they provided for me to send to my GP is unclear and badly worded leading to a long delay in getting the information. My GP surgery has confirmed receipt of the consent form and are awaiting the request for information. General Medical maintain that the consent form is the request! I feel like piggy in the middle and I'm getting nowhere. General Medical have not been proactive throughout the claim process. When I have requested an update their emails to me have been rude and abrupt. One email even implied that I'm stupid or a liar! It feels like they are deliberately creating confusion and delays to avoid paying out. I strongly suggest spending your money elsewhere. Edit following the standard response received from General Medical: I have been in contact with General Medical using those contact details many times and received the abrupt, unhelpful responses referred to above. With other insurers the process of me giving consent and them receiving access to my online medical records is all electronic and happens in a matter of minutes/hours. Two months is a ridiculous amount of time for this process to take and the delays are all caused by General Medical's unclear forms and lack of guidance/follow up.
