Poor customer service and bad idea for payment
The apartment we rented through Friendly Rentals was everything that was described and worth the cost. It was easy to set up and the website provided all the information needed. I was disappointed on just paying Friendly Rentals their money for their part of the rental. The places you rent is paid in cash with the additional deposit and cleaning fee upon check. It was an inconvenience to be traveling in another country and take out over 700 Euros from an ATM. You are to meet with the contact person who collects the money and shows you the apartment. Our contact person changed the day before we arrived and the contact person never showed. The contact person's "friend" showed about 30 minutes late as we parked on the sidewalk illegally waiting for the "friend" to show. She did not take any money and had no idea about the money. We tried contacting both the contact person and Friendly Rentals numerous times and did not get a response from anyone. It wasn't till we mentioned that we owe money and we have to leave for a Madrid flight that we get a response from the contact person. We ended leaving the money on the table and never met the contact person. It seemed that once Friendly Rental got their share of the money, they left us hanging and took no responsibility. Poor customer service that cost us lot's of extra time and undue stress while on vacation. I like the idea of paying all the monies owed prior to traveling.
