7 months and still no closure!
I really hope that every one gets what's due to them from this totally inefficient and more likely crooked company but would like to share my experience. I was told for weeks and was even sent emails and a paper bill showing I was in credit with gas account and had debit of £39 for electricity. I paid balance of electricity and was told to expect refund for gas of £54. I've had other issues with awful service and incorrect bills etc which I won't even take the time to explain now. Eventually after 3 attempts to transfer to new supplier, one of which was after a call to EE and being told accounts were up to date! Blocked again! Then I began getting demands for payments of over £200. After 8 weeks and a complaint which wasn't answered I resorted to ombudsman. They facilated transfer to new provider within few weeks. Ombudsman's findings cited so many examples of poor customer services they awarded me highest amount of compensation of £100 plus written apology and EE were told to produce a final bill using my reading by 21 December. 2 out of the 3 so far! It is past target date but apparently ombudsman allows another 2 weeks to complete. The ombudsman's comment I'd like to draw people's attention to is that, ombudsman told EE 'when a bill is cancelled, this amount should not be added as a credit to customer's account as it produces a false balance', Really!!? I hope this billing error?! hasn't been applied to others that have been told they are due refunds. I cannot believe this company are still able to continue in business with their terrible service and what I consider to be sharp, if not illegal practises. I change suppliers regularly but this experience has made me doubt the recommendations of consumer experts to do so. As I first applied to transfer from EE in May it is going to be at least 7 months before this is settled. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable.
