Maritime Research Station Resupply
Our marine biology research station sits on a barrier island 40km from the mainland. Boat runs for supplies are weather-dependent and expensive. We purchased the Stork VTOL to ferry data drives, water testing kits, small equipment parts, and even SD cards from our field cameras back to the university lab. It handles coastal winds remarkably well thanks to the fixed-wing design, and the 100+ km range means the 80km round trip is well within limits. The DJI O3 video link gives us eyes on the drone over open water which was a requirement for our safety protocols. At $4,995 it paid for itself within weeks versus boat charter costs. Exceptional piece of engineering.
