I decided to use ParcelABC and will never, ever do so again. They are deceptive, and extort additional hidden fees
I decided to use ParcelABC. They are an aggregator- they don’t actually do anything except clip the ticket. Avoid them at all costs. Just go straight to the courier companies. I selected UPS - a well known and reputable international courier. The ParcelABC website pushed me to additional insurance for the parcel which consisted of my wife’s used clothes. Zero commercial value but replacement value if lost was estimated $5,000AUD. Paid the insurance and the shipping cost. Order successful. All complete! Then I get a separate message advising because the value of my order was 5,000AUD I would need to pay an additional 1500 to cover customs taxes. This was never disclosed before I paid. I’m now held to ransom.Their customer service team repeatedly contacted me and threatened to stop the delivery unless I pay the additional amount. I fixed the problem: I revised the customs invoice with a value of 500AUD knowing zero customs would apply but THEY STILL THREATENED ME - but for a lesser amount! This is utterly dishonest, illegal and stressful. All they needed to do was clearly advise customers that they will be required to pay a further amount into a “wallet” (also not clearly identified). This should have been advised before the final price was locked in and payment made.
