You get what you pay
We rented the campervan for three weeks and had a relatively good experience, but I 'd like to extend this comment because you get what you pay. GOOD - People in Lucky were friendly and helpful - Quick pick up and drop off - We had a problem with the back door and it was solved fast and easy BAD - The campervan was very old. Clearly it was a Jucy repainted, and had over 450.000km - The engine had no power at all, in every small hill we were overtaken even by big heavy tracks. - The interior was completely run down. Every single seat was scratched. The fridge door had to be tied up otherwise it would open in every curve. - Two days maximum without connecting to a power station, otherwise forget the fridge and the interior lights. - The engine was not noisy but the inside of the car while driving was a noise box. Impossible to have a conversation between back and front seats. - The heating system of the car didn't work, and it is really important at least to defog the windscreen, it rains quite a lot in NZ CONCLUSION As I said before, you get what you pay. We didn't have a bad experience but looking back, I think it was a risky choice. If I had to do it again I would probably choose a company with a newer campervan. But if your budget is very tied, go for it and cross your fingers.
