Drop crashplan - use iDrive!
I have been a longtime Crashplan (Code42) user but have been looking around for alternates. Crashplan changed their model to business only and it became really expensive. Plus its support for older OS's was really bad and its Java setup was really tricky to get right for large data sets - it took me a long time to find the right balance. I have tried other tools but they did not outshine crashplan - until I tried idrive. The cost was much better, the interface was brilliant and performance both for upload and CPU load was much better than crashplan. I am in the process of deactivating the crashplan account. I have also signed up for iDrives sister product RemotePC which also works better than TeamViewer.
