We booked a 4 night Rhine river cruise in August and paid full price by October. Six days before the cruise we received an email stating that the cruise was cancelled due to a maintenance issue. They offered us to embark on another cruise with the same dates which was leaving from another country which was impossible for us since we had already booked our flights in August to Cologne. The other plausible alternative was to catch the cruise ship which was doing the same route a day later. We did that and the staff on board were excellent. However, we never got refunded for the night we missed even though we requested a reimbursement. Apart from the fact that we had to catch 2 trains to arrive to the destination and pay for a night in a hotel. They replied that we were given a cabin upgrade instead, however, it resulted that we actually paid for the upgrade since we received no compensation. This fleet is definitely not to recommend as they are not reliable. You cannot cancel a cruise on customers six days before and not even answer the phone. Apart from the fact that the alternative was to go on another cruise and there was no mention of a monetary refund whatsoever. When we asked for a refund by email we didn't even receive a reply, they only replied when we suggested we embark a day late. Had we seen the reviews before we would have definitely booked with another cruise line. Not to be trusted.
