Bit of a con

I purchased office 2016 a couple of years ago. This company was sold to me as a 'lifetime guarantee' company and before I purchased, I asked them if I got a new laptop (inevitable - those items are not lifetime guaranteed) would I be able to use the same office package again (you know, because it's a lifetime guarantee), I was told of course, yes I definitely would. Fast forward 2/3 years....had to get a new laptop, tried to use the code and now they're saying that it is a one time use code. As there are places I can get a cheaper package now, I won't use this company again but wanted to let everyone know, just in case the 'lifetime guarantee' is what is pushing you to buy...it's incorrect and won't work on a new laptop.
