Avoid the Clifton branch!!
We used the services of the Clifton converyancers: trainee who was undertaking the work took incredibly long to perform the most basic of proof of funds queries (took 6-8wks to even start asking us questions regarding documents we had provided in January - and that was only because we started chasing multiple times!). I know friends who have bought houses in the past year and their proof of funds queries were resolved in less than 2-3 weeks. Very inefficient and lot of time wasted going back and forth because the staff was clearly inexperienced without proper supervision. The said staff went on holiday at a crucial time without informing us beforehand, and the manager didn't even know what stage the work was at when we rang to enquire how much was left (i.e. clearly there's a lack of internal communication!) It's a shame because the Southville branch's conveyancers that the selling party used were much more efficient and even they were frequently chasing our conveyancers! So clearly it's not an issue for Ocean as a whole because everyone else we got in touch with (including Mark, our estate agent) were very helpful and informative, but the Clifton branch singlehandedly ruined our experience and will certainly not be recommending their services to anyone.
