Sadly Centauro is not what it used to be
Fly to Spain frequently and having previously used other car rental companies but have used Centauro for many years now. I have previously written reviews on various site contradicting bad ones as I have always found the company great. Easy to book, easy to pick up and return. I have never been hassled for insurance or anything else. However, maybe they have recently had a change of management. I sometimes have to change bookings because its changed. I used to make several in advance. They then started requiring full payment in advance. This then stopped for a while but it’s back again now. No great problem, but when you cancel and change a booking do always get an immediate cash refund and DO NOT accept a voucher. It should be no problem, but I currently have three and they will not let you use more than one at a time. I asked if they could combine them, but they said no. I asked for a cash refund, but they said it had to be requested within three months – it was. They then came back with some nonsensical answer about if you use a voucher in payment, you cannot then get a refund if you cancel to change booking. Quite frankly it’s just bizarre as if they’d simply changed it to one voucher and not given me any refund I would have immediately made next booking. Sadly, I would probably now say do not use this company and if you do and have to make changes, never accept a voucher and insist on a cash refund immediately. They are probably not bothered about losing a customer and probably do not even care why.
